Ghana’s COVID-19 cases keeps rising, count is now 5,127.

Ghana’s COVID-19 cases keeps rising,  count is now 5,127.

This was made known by the Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Aboagye at a press briefing today.

This is as a result of 427 new cases of which 272 are from the Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

There have been no new recoveries with the figure still standing at 494 but there are 130 persons awaiting their second negative test, according to the Ghana Health Service.

Armed Police officers deployed to ensure relocation of Covid-19 patients in Obuasi

The District Security Council, DISEC in Obuasi has deployed heavily armed police officers to help relocate Covid-19 patients into an isolation centre in the area.
The facility has been placed under lock and key by residents who said they will not allow it to be used as an isolation centre.

Reports indicate that the residents blocked the road leading to the isolation centre. Obuasi as at May 10 has recorded 261 Covid-19 cases.

Chairperson of the District Security Committee (DISEC), Faustina Amissah who is also the Chief Executive for Obuasi East said the isolation centre is being used because the patients can not continuously be kept at the various homes.

“We’ve given them enough education for about three days now. The health directorate has gone to speak with them including the chief, Assembly and Unit Committee members."

“Despite that, they are still resisting so the next option is force. We have to send them [patients] there because we can’t continue keeping them in their various homes as most of them share basic facilities with other people,” she said.

Healthy lifestyle boost your immune system – Akufo-Addo advises Ghanaians

Healthy lifestyle boost your immune system – Akufo-Addo advises Ghanaians

President Akufo-Addo has advised Ghanaians to adopt a healthy lifestyle, particularly good eating habits to boost their immune system as fight the Covid-19 continues.

Addressing the nation for the 9th time on measures taken to combat the disease, the President indicated that a healthy lifestyle builds a strong immune system to fight the virus when infected.

Although much attention has not been given to it, he noted that it is equally important and must not be taken for granted.

“We have to improve our hygiene, our fitnesses and exercises, our eating habits and generally our style of living.

“They are all equally important as we fight this pandemic, it is an improved lifestyle that will boost our immunity to disease and the virus,” he said.

The President advised citizens to consume foods that contain Vitamins A, B6, C and E to strengthen the immune system.

He then recommended foods such as ‘kontomire’, oranges, ‘dawadawa’, millet, cashew nut, crabs, plantain, okro, brown rice and mushrooms.

“Fortunately all these foods can be food in Ghana, so patronising these foods, ensuring our personal hygiene, and improving our lifestyle habits should become part and parcel of our daily routines.

“This will help boost our immune systems and help us in the fight against pandemic.”

A nurse for a New York City Hospital was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing a dying coronavirus patient’s credit card and using it for gas and groceries.
Danielle Conti, 43, is facing charges of grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in connection with the case. Conti allegedly took the credit card from a patient while he was being treated during her work at Staten Island University Hospital, according to the NYPD.
NBC News was unable to reach Conti on Thursday using public records. She was issued an appearance ticket Thursday by police and released.
Anthony Catapano, 70, died of COVID-19, the disease associated with the coronavirus, on April 12 after a week of treatment at the Staten Island University Hospital, according to a Facebook post in April by his daughter, Tara Catapano.

Tara Catapano told NBC News that when her father's American Express statement came in the mail on April 27, she was shocked to find gas and grocery charges made during his hospitalization. She had her father’s wallet, with all his cards, so she felt as if it had to be someone at the hospital.
After some confusion as to whether she could file a report on behalf of her dead father, police were able to investigate the alleged theft.
“From the very beginning, I knew it was a hospital employee. It would have to be,” she said. “But I even told someone, 'It couldn’t be a doctor or nurse.' Those words actually left my mouth.”
Tara Catapano, who works in a medical office, was shocked to learn she was wrong.
“This was someone who was supposed to care for my father,” she said. “She went in there and gave him his medicine and then, what, went for his wallet? I can’t even wrap my head around it.”
The added stress of figuring out what happened with her father’s belongings has compounded an already difficult grieving process.
Due to restrictions put in place to curb the coronavirus pandemic, families are not typically allowed to stay with their loved ones in hospitals. Catapano was lucky enough to see her father twice because of her own connections in the medical field, but she said others aren’t so lucky.
She knows that families around the world are feeling helpless as their loved ones are hospitalized in isolation, and the idea that patients could be taken advantage of is horrible.
“I wanted the story to be out there because I wanted people to be aware that this was happening to people,” Tara Catapano said. “This could be happening to your mother or your father, and I don’t want that.”
Staten Island University Hospital said in a statement Thursday that Conti, who was hired in 2007, has been temporarily suspended and faces termination.
“We are working closely with the law enforcement authorities and the hospital is conducting its own investigation,” the statement said.
Anthony Capatano lived with his daughter over the last few years after his wife, Nancy, died in 2014. The couple had been married for nearly 36 years.
He worked for the Department of Sanitation for 26 years and was the type of man who would give his shirt off his back for others, his daughter said.
His 12-year-old granddaughter, the child of his late son, was “the light of his life,” Tara Catapano said.
Despite all the difficulties though, she says people have been incredibly kind after she shared her story on social media. It took her some time to read the more than 1000 comments on her Facebook post about her father, but it’s given her some reassurance.
“You know these strangers said the nicest things to me, comforting me,” Tara Catapano said. “It was just very nice, it was as if they knew me.”

Radio personality and actress, Naa Ashorkor has confirmed she has parted ways with the Multimedia Group Limited (MGL)

Mrs. Naa Ashorkor
Radio personality and actress, Naa Ashorkor has confirmed she has parted ways with the Multimedia Group Limited (MGL) almost three years after joining the media organization.

Post on Naa Ashorkor page confirming dismissal from MGL.
According to the on-air personality who hosted ‘Strong and Sassy’ on Joy FM, a subsidiary of MGL, managers of the organization terminated her appointment with immediate effect.

Taking to Instagram to announce the development, she said: “I have got Good news and bad news everyone! With immediate effect as of yesterday, my now former employers, Multimedia Group, terminated my appointment. That’s the bad news.”

The actress, married to Ahuma Cabutey Adodoaji, however takes solace in the fact that her Creator has not forsaken her. Though she admitted the news was not pleasant, she expressed optimism of better things to come.

“Now for the good news, such situations only give my God the opportunity to show up. It’s not an easy time to be out of a regular and steady income. We are not in normal times, but hey, I would like to use this opportunity to encourage everyone who has lost their job or income during these difficult times to not lose hope."
"Hope is an amazing thing that gives us the ability to stand and trust God in such difficult circumstances. Don’t lose hope. Jeremiah 29:11, ‘For I know the plans. I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

It is unclear why her appointment was terminated.

Before joining MGL, Naa Ashorkor was with EIB Network, operators of Starr FM and GhOne TV.

Touching story of the late Bishop Bernard Nyarko

At a point in time in his life, he was overwhelmed by the challenges he faced. One day, he had to beg on the streets to get money to be able to pick a car back home (Kejetia to Paakoso). He could not even cater for his kids. He became suicidal. He wrote his suicide note, was ready to pull the trigger when he heard a certain song on radio (Ash FM) ; It was not a 'Gospel song', it was a song by Kojo Antwi. He said it was the lyrics of the song that moved him to put the gun down. Below are some of the words in the song:

Yes you do not have all the money you need. You could not also get the opportunity to travel abroad as you wish but that should not make you kill yourself . Life and patience is what you  need. (NB: Paraphrased and translated from Twi)

This is a story of the Late Bishop Bernard Nyarko.

Note; he made emphasis on the fact that it was not a Gospel song, and he did that to tell the viewers of the interview how wonderfully God acted during that critical time.

This was a believer who had lost hope in everything including God's Word. But somehow, God found a way to inspire a radio DJ to play a certain song at that critical time because it had the necessary lyrics for his situation. Neighbour, don't you think Coincidence is overrated.

As for the scripture below, I believe God can use it to minister to us everyday and it will still be fresh and inspiring.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

#RIPBishop

“aswear tomorrow am going full attaaaaaack on LIL WIN ... because the mother of my children is not emotional strong ... you have tricked her into doin dis to me Kwadwo ...? aswear tomorrow am going full attaaaaaack on LIL WIN .. because the mother of my children is not emotionally strong... you have tricked her into doin dis to me Kwadwo...? ... He gave his colleagues a 72-hour ultimatum to just respond to his social media postings so that he can reveal their hidden identity.

World Health Organisation (WHO) has refused to acknowledge the corona virus treatment from Madagascar.

World Health Organisation (WHO) has refused to acknowledge the corona virus treatment from Madagascar because "a vaccine is very unlikely to come from Africa", numerous international media have reported.

Madagascar stunned the world last week when President Andry Rajoelina launched
the miracle "covid-organics" - a herbal tonic, that has helped the country subdue covid-19 and stamp its authority over a global pandemic that has made nonsense of the muscles of France, US, Italy, Spain, UK, & Iran, put together.

And in spite of normalcy returning to the island country, and schoolchildren resuming studies following a first of its kind plant-based tonic that's proven effective both in profilaxis, i.e. preventive and curative, WHO says a cure from an African address can't be trusted.

The herbal medicine developed by the country's Malagasy Institute of Applied Research (MIAR) contains Artemisia - a plant cultivated on the island and used in the fight against malaria.

Madagascar has a land mass of about 587,041sqkm and a population of around 27 million.

It reported its index cases on March 23 with 9 confirmed patients and by
April 19 had a total of 121 cases, 59 recoveries, and no deaths, as at April 24.

It’s been 5 days now and no new case has been recorded in the country. Yet WHO isn't convinced. Their only contention now is that the vaccine is locally made, and African. The argument is no longer whether it produces results.

But what exactly is Madagascar doing differently?

* Testing and contact tracing is devoid of politics.

* Schoolchildren receive compulsorily small doses of the tonic throughout the day, as they prepare to return to school, Wednesday.

* The plant-based tonic is also being distributed free to the most vulnerable in the country, and sold at very low prices to others.

* Wealthy and financially strong Madagascans, politicians, and legislators, purchase the tonic and make donations as their contribution towards funding more research.

* BBC reports scores of locals trooping out to receive the tonic, as no lockdown is in place.

* The country hasn't welcome any "outside" assistance.

* Their lab scientists, medicine professors, consultants  and doctors converged in labs working their socks out, while their counterparts in the rest Africa were dressed in 3-piece suits, tuxedos and pyjamas, drinking choice wines, turning on swivel chairs, watching TV and ordering that as few tests as possible be conducted, so as not to paint their regions black and shame their emperors!

* Scientists in the country presented their finding to their  President who happily went on national TV and took doses of the syrup, discovered, processed, made and bottled from their research labs.

* All proceeds from sales of the medicine is to be pushed back into their science research institutes.

Make no mistake!

As long as a covid19 vaccine isn't found in the so-called saner climes, WHO may well not okay it! Take it or leave it.

I'm not a scientist, but whatever is in those Madagascan bottles, even if it cures a million people a day, won't make sense to WHO, because its African, local and black!

Simplicitas.

As usual, they want the patent, franchise, and proprietary to be domiciled in some Western address - America, UK, Canada, Israel, Norway and even Latin America. Name them.

Don't be deceived! Those guys had already written us off! Long ago. With over 2000 dropping dead daily in the US alone, Melinda Gates could only see dead bodies lining the streets of Africa. It's foolishness.

But that mentality isn't new!

What bothers me, though, is why African leaders seem to be giving  their imprimature to her doomsday hallucinations. Rubber stamps, if you ask me!

You doubt,

Ok, why are African heads still yet to rally round Madagascar and give this therapy a global shot? Tell me!

The West sure have an agenda, but that agenda can't work without our culpable consent!

Africa, please it's time to arise! We fought and won the war against the dreaded Ebola. WHO did not give us any credits and we didn't mind!

We will win again, even against covid19. Collectively and in unity.
