At a point in time in his life, he was overwhelmed by the challenges he faced. One day, he had to beg on the streets to get money to be able to pick a car back home (Kejetia to Paakoso). He could not even cater for his kids. He became suicidal. He wrote his suicide note, was ready to pull the trigger when he heard a certain song on radio (Ash FM) ; It was not a 'Gospel song', it was a song by Kojo Antwi. He said it was the lyrics of the song that moved him to put the gun down. Below are some of the words in the song:
Yes you do not have all the money you need. You could not also get the opportunity to travel abroad as you wish but that should not make you kill yourself . Life and patience is what you need. (NB: Paraphrased and translated from Twi)
This is a story of the Late Bishop Bernard Nyarko.
Note; he made emphasis on the fact that it was not a Gospel song, and he did that to tell the viewers of the interview how wonderfully God acted during that critical time.
This was a believer who had lost hope in everything including God's Word. But somehow, God found a way to inspire a radio DJ to play a certain song at that critical time because it had the necessary lyrics for his situation. Neighbour, don't you think Coincidence is overrated.
As for the scripture below, I believe God can use it to minister to us everyday and it will still be fresh and inspiring.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28
